Illegal Jukirs are Rampant in North Jakarta

Although it was often raided, the presence of illegal parking attendants (Jukir) in several intersections and rounds in North Jakarta roads is still found. On the pretext of helping riders who want to turn around or park their vehicles, their presence instead accused to add congestion and disorder on roads.

The presence of these jukirs are often seen on Jalan Danau Sunter Selatan, exactly on Jalan Danau Permai Timur intersection. Then on Jalan RE Martadinata near Tanjung Priok container station entrance on Jalan Pakin, near Bahari Museum, Penjaringan, as well as on Jalan Tipar Cakung intersection towards Sukapura Mayor Housing.

These jukirs presence also found on 3 points: near Pasar Ular, Plumpang on Jalan H Murtado intersection and Jalan Walang Baru, Koja, as well as on Jalan Jalan Yos Sudarso that is planned to be free from PMKS and also packed with illegal jukir around U-turn of Artha Gading Mall.

City Assessed to have Failed Encouraging Jukir On Street to Jukir Off Street

Irmansyah (34), a local resident complained on the presence of these jukirs that makes the road is getting jammed every morning and evening such as on Jalan Danau Sunter Selatan, Jalan Danau Permai Timur intersection.

“They casually stop vehicles towards Kemayoran from Sunter to allow vehicles passing toward Jalan Sunter Permai. Besides it makes congestion, it harms riders if they’re force to stop suddenly,” he complained, Monday (4/21).

Responding to that, Head of North Jakarta Social Sub-Dept., Ika Lestari admitted that she will command her party to examine those locations. Later on, it will be cooperated with Satpol PP to curb those jukirs.

“ We will soon follow up about it. We will coordinate with Satpol PP to curb them ,” she promised.
